One of the best is dreamhorse.com, theres equine.com, and sometimes there are specific sites, like e-reiner.com. I know dreamhorse has a TON of horses, and it is one of the most used sites, they also have tack, trailers, trucks, etc.

There are actually quite a few sites. It really depends on just what exactly you're looking for. If you want an off the track thoroughbred canterusa.com (org?) is good. Equine.com is helpful too. If you want to rescue a horse, try a rescue group....many of them only allow adoptions within their own state so I can't give you an address of one that would let you adopt. At the Hooved Animal Humane Society, a horse is only $1000- but you need to meet their standards (and be in Illinois)
