My family is getting an exchange student, and she loves horses. Our horses are either green or barrel horses, and we want her to be as safe as possible. So we would really love to suprise her with a broke horse that is on the cheeper side, so she has something to ride for the ten months she is here, and once she leaves my brothers girlfriend, can use. Contact your humane societies, they're aware of any larger livestock that may need help, from abandoned livestock, abuse cases, or whatever. They can put you in touch with someone if there's a horse on their list.
Also contacting any farm vets would be a good call, they'd be in the phone book.
