I found a Pinto horse for Sale for $75, is this a good deal?

I found someone who is selling 1 and 2 year old pinto fillies and colts for $75 each. Is this a good deal, or do you think there is something wrong there? They are unregistered.I found a Pinto horse for Sale for $75, is this a good deal?
It's not a very good sign.

It's a sign of overpopulation, the person you know has obviously over-bred underqualified horses.

If you have the experience to train or can work with a trainer and have the patience to provide these foals with a long happy life, I would go for it because it is a good price. Remember quality and training can help these horses excel in life, every horse should have that chance.

But please, don't breed them, cheap horses (especially unregistered stock horses) often go to slaughter no matter what part of the country they are in. Kill buyers will even visit with family to seem more innocent. I think that if more people could be respinsible and not breed but buy, like you are, more horses would have good homes and less would be homeless. Good luck finding the right horse and if you get them, have fun!

Good Luck!I found a Pinto horse for Sale for $75, is this a good deal?
Rachel, there is VERY DEFINITELY something wrong here- and my guess is, SERIOUSLY WRONG. DON'T BUY from these people, no matter how nice the horses look in their pictures. They could have any one of hundreds of genetic or personality problems, and it's only too likely that they have known little if any handling or kindness from people. You also know nothing about these peoples' circumstances- and there has to be a reason why they are selling horses this cheaply. I doubt that reason is a good one.

Anytime horses are way underpriced like this, it's a RED FLAG and a sign that something is really wrong. A horse which is two years old is old enough to be starting training under saddle, and most legitimate breeders have usually done some work in that area by then. A yearling can be shown at halter and on the line- and again, the fact that none of these horses have apparently been handled or shown, or even paid attention to is worrisome. No, I smell a rat here, and so should you. Yes, there's a remote chance this is just a typo, but I doubt it.
The economy is terrible, so they just may be backyard bred horses. This is fine, as long as they are healthy. Just when you go , expect these little cute babies to be in a terrible environment with no coggins or shot record with bad hooves. All those things can be taken care of with one vet and farrier visit though. If worse comes to worse and there is something wrong with them, you didnt invest any money really in the first place.

Where I board, a few people come by each week offering to GIVE their horse to us for free. So it might be legit.
I think something is definitely wrong. You get what you pay for and it sounds like these people are practically going to pay YOU. A fair horse costs at least 1000 dollars, a good horse at least 3000, and a great horse at least 6000. Some people will disagree with me but I spend a lot of time looking at the horse market and thats what I see. These horses could be dangerous, sick, or both.
did you stop to think that there might have been a typo? a few years ago, i saw this add for a great horse, and it was $800, but when we called them up it was really $8000. but if its really $75, then either they have terrible breeding, or the people are crazy, or there is something bad going on there.
$75? There is definitely something wrong there. I would steer far away from this situation, especially if you are not familiar with horses. Besides, if it's unregistered, how do you know the person is telling the truth?
They probly have to many horses and not enough time so they just want to get rid of them.i got my 3yearold hackney pony for 25dollars although the guy said he was a gelding then a mare but turns out he was a stud. Oh well thats what u get when u go to horse auctions.
i would say it it would probably be ok to just go and look around but youll want to bring a vet with you just in case. also make sure to ask the owner anything and everything about these horses because something seems...a little suspicious.
Well, it might have been a typo, or they are lying, or they are really stupid. They might have been horrible bred, or they might now just want them any more. My friend gave away a couple of health, broke horses just because he didn't want them any more.
I'm going to guess that there is something wrong here. To adopt a Standardbred in Ontario it costs $750, so $75 is extremely cheap!! I would be very suspicious if I were you, but then again it can't hurt to look at them, right?
If you do go look at them bring a vet and a very horse savvy person.Even if you are very horse knowledgeable you should still bring anther person just in case you miss something. or get an all ( OOOOHHH HOW CUTE) moment and cant resist
Definitely go see them many times, bring a vet with you, and an experienced horse person.

I smell something fishy, though...
that is not a good deal. there is probably something wrong with them. Think about it: most bikes are more expensive than that! (not to be rude, just saying)
Don't do it. If you do, go see them multiple times and bring the vet with you.
$75 dollars? There might be a health issue with them. Or they could have anger problems
