Where's a good place to find draft horses for sale?

I've looked all over on draft websites, and every other horses for sale website, but i seem to be struggling to find them, I figured since the economy is so bad there might be loads of them. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where i could look? I live in Virginia. Im willing to look around Long Island, New York, Maryland, and parts of north carolina. I just don't know where to start...

Help please!

thanks guys

oh, and im aware of the extra costs in having a draft horse. My mom used to have a draft cross.

Thanks!Where's a good place to find draft horses for sale?
Lots of good, reputable regular draft horse sales every year....Google them and they will pop up by the dozens...here is also another good source: http://www.draftsforsale.com/ Good luck, you will love owning and working with a draft.Where's a good place to find draft horses for sale?
There aren't that many extra costs in having a draft horse. My 17.2h mare is ridden 5 days a week and eats the same amount as any regularly ridden warmblood- 3-4 flakes twice a day with ~6 lbs of grain.

My aunt has raised draft and draftcrosses for years, and all of them were about the same, though less active drafts were only fed 2 flakes of hay twice a day, and were a good weight.

Check out draftsforsale.com - It is a great website.

Check out in virginia:

Both have great conformation, and have been ridden.
new holland auction in pa.

lots of amish horses, drafts and crosses, that are broke to drive.

this is unfortunatley the final stop for many, many horses going to slaughter. i hope you go there and are able to find the horse of your dreams, and give him the home of his dreams:)

best of luck!

ps. gail proctors' pleasant prospect farm in md, may have the cross bred you are looking for as well.
If you are in Virginia, you could go up to the amish areas of PA to look. Of course they won't have websites or phone numbers, so I'm not sure how you'd find out who has horses for sale. I know of one farm in MD that breeds Clydesdales. Their phone number is (301) 829-0087.
I love dreamhorse.com! Sometimes they dont have what your looking for but always my first choice. Theres also some smaller sites like horsetopia.com, equine.com, horseville.com, also a draft site called draftsforsale.com. Hope you find one you like!
DreamHorse.com would be a good choose.

When you get there go to breed/state search

When there look for the breed you want and the state you want and answer the following questions and search and look at different states that you will look into
equine.com, dreamhorse.com, draftsforsale.com

I have a gorgeous black and white spotted draft mare for sale, email for details nartisticgold@aol.com
There is a rescue called SAD - Save a Draft.

You should find it on google
